Musica Religiosa

Wedding Samples

Prelude Music

This music is traditionally played as guests are arriving. It can be any type and I usually choose a style appropriate to the audience.

Clair De Lune
The Lord's Prayer
Air on a G String

This music is traditionally played as the bride's mother and the groom's mother are escorted up to their pews or to the sanctuary for the lighting of the two candles beside the unity candle.

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Organ)
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Piano)

Wedding Party

This music is traditionally played as the bridal party processes. Since here's really no way to tell how long each couple will take to walk the aisle, a very flexible song is preferable.

Canon in D

A bride might choose to process to the more traditional pieces of “Bridal Chorus” or “Trumpet Voluntary,” or choose a less traditional or more personal piece for her entrance. Here are only a few suggestions.

Bridal Chorus
Trumpet Voluntary
Con Te Partiro

Responsorial Psalm

Usually, there are two readings, an Old Testament and a New Testament reading. Between those comes the responsorial psalm. This is usually sung, but can be read if another reader is necessary.

Psalm 103 - The Lord is Kind and Merciful
Psalm 128 - Blessed Are Those Who Love You

Offertory Hymn

This music can be almost anything religious that your heart desires. Here I have a few of the songs that are most popular. This can be sung or instrumental.

You Are Mine
Wherever You Go
When Love Is Found
You Raise Me Up
The Wedding Song
(There Is Love)

Love - McCartney

Service Music

Unless otherwise requested by the priest, the Mass of Renewal is what is usually played during weddings. (With the exception of the the Celtic Alleluia.)

Mass of Renewal
(Starting at 4m32s)

Communion Hymn

Depending on the number of family, friends, and other invited guests, you may choose one or two songs for this part of the ceremony. You may also choos from the "Offertory Hymns" category.

One Bread, One Body

Flowers to Mary

This takes place right after communion. As the now Wife and Husband dedicate their union to the Mother of God, the Ave Maria is usually played. The couple may also elect to sign the wedding licence at this point. (The Ave Maria is a longer song, so please, take your time!)

Ave Maria (Schubert)

Recessional Hymn

The following music is what is usually chosen for the end of your special service. Although you may pick a main song to process to, know that I will continue to play until the complete wedding party has exited.

Wedding March
Trumpet Tune
The Rejoicing
Ode to Joy
Allegro Maestoso
